Items & Inventory
Everything in your Inventory tab down to the serial number on your own copy.
Anything you can put on your profile is an item. Titles, avatar borders, site themes and the scene behind your player card are all in the Inventory tab on your profile, next to your unopened crates and your sabers.
Slots#
You equip one item per slot. A title, a border shape, a border color, a theme, a badge and both backgrounds can all be on at once.
| Slot | What it changes |
|---|---|
| Title | The line that sits under your name |
| Border shape | The frame cut around your avatar |
| Border color | What that frame is filled with |
| Badge | All your badges show on your profile, and the equipped one leads the row |
| Theme | The colors of the whole site while you are logged in |
| Profile background | The image behind your profile page |
| Thumbnail background | The scene behind your small player card |
Swapping is free and instant. Some items have variants, which are alternate looks of the same item. You pick one when you equip it. Sabers and pedestals do not use a slot, because they are files you install into Beat Saber by hand.
Rarity#
There are six rarities from common up to mythic. Rarer items come out of crates less often. They give more essence when you break them down.
| Rarity | Essence |
|---|---|
| common | 2 ✦ |
| uncommon | 5 ✦ |
| rare | 10 ✦ |
| epic | 25 ✦ |
| legendary | 50 ✦ |
| mythic | 100 ✦ |
Modifiers#
A modifier is attached to your particular copy of an item. It changes how that copy looks and what it is called. Most of them roll out of a crate on a chance separate from the item itself. Item Modifiers & Effects goes through every modifier, where each one comes from and what it does.
Serials#
A serialized item gives out its numbers in the order players get it. If you are the eleventh person to ever get a title, your copy is number 11 for good.
The first five copies of anything get Founder's for free. It attaches on its own the moment you get your serial.
A Strange item counts every ranked personal best you set while it is equipped. The count stays on that copy permanently. Taking the item off freezes the number.
Try it#
Here is a real item off the live catalog. Switch items to go through the rarities, stack modifiers on, and drag the serial through 5 to watch Founder's attach itself:
Locked to you#
Level unlocks, milestone rewards, official campaign rewards and event rewards are bound to the account that got them. You cannot trade them, you cannot list them on the market, and breaking them down gives nothing. Everything that comes out of a crate can move between players and is worth its full rarity value.
